How we Work

From concept to keys

It starts with a phone call. You have a space, and you have a requirement. We'll work with you to make them match, on paper and in reality.

The Planning Process

Our initial meeting with you creates a design brief. We take that brief away, and come back with outline suggestions for your office, and guide prices.

At this stage, everything is flexible, and together we focus in on the preferred design. We work up that design more fully, reflecting your feedback, and we come back to you with layout plans, visualisations, furniture and fitting ideas, surface finish samples, and amended costs.

Once appointed we make sure that our joint proposal complies with local authority plans, national CDM (construction, design, and management) regulations, health and safety requirements and any covenants inherent in your freehold or leasehold. The entire process is reiterated until our designs match your requirements, your expectations and your budget, and any third party constraints on the building.

The Building Process

With a finalised design and budget, we move to realisation. First comes a schedule of works. With different trades involved and different suppliers of materials from carpets to conference tables, from ceilings to seating, from plants to partitions, the schedule is the key to a successful project.

Before we start on site we provide a detailed programme of works explaining when decisions need to be made and when items of work will be completed. If you're already in the building, and the project is phased this tells you the critical move dates.

Any project brings together different professions and trades from architects and engineers to plasterers and network installers. In achieving success, the skills of each are critical. At Metrix Interiors our role is to co-ordinate, control and motivate that team, making sure they provide the right skills on time, to specification and within budget. And in doing so, to keep you in close touch with progress while minimising your involvement in day-to-day management.

Handover

When the office is complete, when furniture is in place, when computers are connected, when there's a kettle in the kitchen, then it's time for you to move in. We'll be there with you – we'll even help you move if you'd like – and be by your side for the first few critical days, to make sure that every thing is working as you want.

But then, we don't just walk away. We provide you with an operations and maintenance manual for the office, detailing all the infrastructure, instructions for operating equipment, contacts for maintenance and upgrades, plans of cable runs, and everything you need to keep your new office running efficiently, now and into the future.
