Newman Hire, a family owned business specialising in the hire of lighting to film producers, had been in their existing premises for over 50 years until it was sold last year for redevelopment.
A search for a new building lead by a team of consultants eventually chose Unit E at Swallowfield Way in Hayes, approximately 1,300 sq m.
Following a two stage tender process Metrix were appointed to carry out the fitting out of the unit which consisted of:
A 3 tier mezzanine floor structure approximately 820 sq m
Goods and passenger lifts with associated lift pits
Full mechanical and electrical installation including workshop and office power and lighting supplies
Fire alarms, security systems and intruder alarms
Concrete blockwork to 6m to provide segregation between various workshops and lightweight solid and glass partitions to form offices
Full height 3 tier racking systems were also installed along with kitchen, canteen, toilet and shower room facilities
Vinyl and carpet tile floor finishes together with decoration completed the works
